what seems to be the whole town looking on, children farmers and elegant fashionable woman.
By 1906 the Packard auto was already designed, Ford's Model T needed two more years to be put
into production. This wonderful Victorian style classic early automobile image is playful and easily framed.

at its best. With gold printing ink used for the border and text, this poster depicts an early aviator in his
style #237 stylish plaid suit, a white high stiff collar shirt and tie and a sporty cap to match. With a
wrench in his hand, he has just fixed the early Orville and Wright style biplane in background with
fashionable woman behind him in her gear. Very beautiful, rare and ready for framing!

Londres is a straight cigar about 4 3/4 in. long.This poster tells customers of an "important price revision"

NOTE: This poster was printed to promote the American literary magazine called Century.
The Century Magazine was a monthly popular magazine published in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The Century Magazine began publication in 1881, as a successor to Scribner's Monthly Magazine.
It ceased publication in 1930. A literary magazine is a periodical devoted to literature in a broad sense.
Literary magazines usually publish short stories, poetry and essays along with literary criticism,
book reviews, biographical profiles of authors, interviews and letters. Literary magazines first began to
appear in the early part of the 19th century, mirroring an overall rise in the number of books,
magazines and scholarly journals being published at that time. There were a number of literary
magazines in Europe (especially in England and Russia) and the United States. Even though
many of these magazines were not necessarily entirely literary in content and most had a short
lifespan. Each month, a poster would be printed as a promotional, this one, the month of May and the
crowning of a Russian czar. Beautiful and ready for framing!

NOTE: This lovely parlor print depicts a beautiful woman strolling in her fashionable dress along a European style landscape.
She is dressed in a hat and an elegant dress. Beneath the image are the words The Terrace Walk by V Corcos. Vittorio Matteo Corcos
was born in Leghorn and studied at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Firenze Italia. He studied under many famous artists of the times.
In 1880 he moved to Paris and became a part of the aristocratic circles where he received portrait work, his self portrait of 1913 is a part
of the Uffizzi collection. By the turn of the 20th century he became a famous portrait painter doing royal portraits. The text at the top the
poster reads; Supplement to the Extra Summer Number of the Illustrated London News 1891. The poster format, with no actual product
advertising, is generally called a parlor print, very popular during the Victorian era and turn of the last century. In an elegant frame this
piece would look complete. Beautiful and ready for framing!

NOTE: Harper’s Magazine was first created in June 1850,by the book publishing firm
Harper & Brothers. The first press run of 7,500 copies sold out immediately, and within
six months circulation had reached 50,000. The earliest issues consisted largely of
material that had already been published in England and soon after, the magazine
began printing the the work of American artists and writers. One of those artists was
Edward Penfield the designer of this poster. His signature varies throughout time
and can be seen here printed in the plate at the bottom right of the poster.
Featured for the month of October is this hunting with rifle theme with two rabbits.
The hunter is reading harper's of course and ignoring his game! A condition,
very beautiful and ready to be framed! A rare original American piece.

This smaller format was the first American art poster, and was utilized to advertise weekly publications.
The publication the poster advertises was and article by Helene Adeline Guerber, and called "Stories of the Wagner Opera"
It features a classical nude woman with musical harp, German or Germany castle in background. It is a deep red/orange
and black printed on old yellow oatmeal paper, signed HURD, lower left. A beautiful and rare early American advertising,

NOTE: A wonderful elegant American piece designed by the talented illustrator; Edward Penfield.
Harper's Magazine was first created in June 1850 by the book publishing firm Harper & Brothers.
The earliest issues consisted largely of published England or English material and soon after, the
magazine printed the work of American artists, illustrators and writers. One of those artists was
Edward Penfield, a very well known designer of this poster. Penfield was born 1866 and died in1925.
In 1894 he produced a series of monthly images for Harper's magazine. His style was influenced by
Japanese prints, hand-craftsmanship of the Arts and Crafts movement, and the impressionistic
approach of Paris France French poster making elements. Penfield's signature is printed on this
poster at the bottom right. Rare, beautiful and ready for framing!

Illustrator Donald Gardner has a wonderful early graphic style, in which he illustrates a
child with a steaming cup o' hot cocoa to help sell the Runkel product. The poster makes
you thirsty, as good advertising does! The lithographic printing is wonderful and the
condition is very good. An uncommon American advertising piece we have not seen before.

Meyer and Company of Chicago wholesale merchant tailors. "Meyer Means Higher Grade".
A suited man sporting a cane and hat makes him a "man about town" during the WW1 era.

1920-30's King Cole Tea Advertising Poster
This is a beautiful, A condition, linen mounted art deco advertising poster for
King Cole tea. We found evidence and history of this tea online, produced by the
Barbour Company (or Barbour's, Barbours) in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
from the 1920-the 1960's. It features 3 people in front of an idyllic mountain range,
lake and sail boat, sailboat, boating or boat scene, sipping their tea. They are all dressed
in beautiful vintage clothing in very vibrant and vivid colors. We were lucky enough to buy 5
of these posters years ago, and just found them in our inventory.
Size: 24 x 27 inches, almost square. Vintage tea posters or antique tea posters are
desirable as they are wonderful for a kitchen, coffeehouse or restaurant and hard to find.

Brooke Hanlon and stories were Ambassador Bullitt: He Rose from the Dead.
