1890 Scribners Literary Book Vintage Media Poster

CONDITION: B, Linen Mounted, small minor border tears, one restored professionally 3 inch right side upper horizontal tear, no paper loss, requires close scrutiny to see. A beautiful and uncommon piece!

NOTE: This delicately designed Victorian poster is by the graphic artist illustrator Wall, and depicts a young woman reading by the seaside. The design is an example of the American Art Nouveau style. The poster was an advertisement for Scribner`s Magazine, an early American Journal. This issue`s cover poster was to promote mid-summer fiction reading. Scribner`s Monthly was a magazine first published in 1870, merging with the second incarnation of Putnam’s Magazine, and was printed until 1881, when it was replaced by The Century Magazine. We only have this one. A lovely decorative piece, beautiful and ready for framing!
