This Victorian era American Art Nouveau poster was designed by Jean Carre. Here we see his work in design for the May cover of the magazine “Outing” of 1896. Outing was a late-nineteenth- and early twentieth-century magazine which included a variety of sporting activities and outdoor stories. It began publication in 1882, was first called the Wheelman for early antique bicycle enthusiasts. It had four title changes before ending publication in 1923. Here we see depicted a lovely romantic scene of a woman playing a guitar while sailing on a sailboat. Very modern in style, elegant and early American. The poster is archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one.
Size: 14 × 17 inches
