NOTE:
This 1930's incentive poster is a part of a smaller size series of
posters, each with a different title and month. Printed in fine print
below is C.R. Jackson Co. Distributors, Kansas City, Missouri, MO. The
poster promotes Better Speech and depicts a great art deco image of a bird / parrot. The text reads: "People who overwork a slang phrase are HUMAN PARROTS!".
These thirties incentive posters were put out
during the WPA Works Progress Administration years, and depression era in
the U.S. to further the incentive of American children. It was first
published in 1929 during the fall of Wall street, and then again in
1937. A great historical American piece during the FDR Franklin Roosevelt time
period, and with an advertising byline so cool even today!
Beautiful and ready for framing. We have two found together and no more when gone.
