1950 Greek Line Olympia Ocean Liner Shipping Poster
This is a stunning original travel poster in A condition, linen mounted. Printed in the 1950`s by Arti Grafiche G. Schenone in Genova (Genoa) Italy, it depicts a wonderful large horizontal view of the famous Greek line ship, “Olympia.”
The Olympia was built for the Greek lines in 1953. The General Steam Navigation Company of Greece (also known as the Greek Line) was formed in 1939 to run transatlantic sailings from Greece.
This poster is a beauty, ready for framing, and in clean, beautiful linen mounted condition. It is is printed with on early linen paper with a sheen to it, as seen in our photograph. The color and artwork is stunning. There is a signature of poster artist, illustrator and graphic designer A.M. Pal in lower right. Beautiful, bright, vivid and ready for framing! We have never had or seen this poster before and only have this one, uncommon and a beauty for a ship buff or children’s room.
