This is a beautiful original fifties Japanese Geisha poster advertising travel to Japan. It features a full figure image of a Geisha in traditional garb, with a stunning red silk kimono. The poster has beautiful gold inks, as seen in photos.
The Japan Travel Bureau would have printed this for distribution in English speaking countries to encourage travel to Japan in the 1950's. Japan Airlines International Co., Ltd. (JAL) is an airline headquartered in Tokyo, and was established in 1951 by the Government of Japan when it recognized the need for a solid airline to help Japan grow in the aftermath of World War II.
