Ludwig Hohlwein, premier German poster artist, was born in Germany 1874-1949 and trained as an architect. He practiced until 1906 when he started a new career in poster design. His posters, with their famous signature, “Ludwig Hohlwein München“ were distributed throughout Europe and America. His style ranges from Art Deco to Nazi propaganda.
This German travel poster depicts the Lake of Constance in Germany advertising travel to English speaking countries, pre WW2, world war two, WWII. A wonderful early piece with his strong Art Deco attributes. We only have this one.
