The famous line "Get Me to the Church on Time" is used here from My Fair Lady to project Air India Airlines and their Boeing 707 planes in this transportation travel poster. It features the famous mustached Maharaji or Maharaja, the Air India advertising figure mascot, who is hitchhiking and carrying only his vinyl sixties Air India travel bag, of course! ....and to America!
It features the wonderful "My Own Work" Indian artist signature logo in lower right, see photo. Air India had sponsorship from Rolls Royce cars or autos at this time, and the RR ad logo can also be seen mid center.
He wears a full cowboy get-up with gun in holster, vest, waist belt, jeans, an impressive ammunition bullet belt that criss crosses his body and highly decorated rhinestone cowboy boots with spurs. Great clothing! Condition is beautiful and it was just freshly linen mounted Nov 2019. A rare piece to find.
