This uncommon smaller sewing related Poster is an advertisement for a printed fabric, to introduce new washable fabric made of Celanese Brand yarn. The wonderful Corticelli cat antique advertising logo is printed in the right corner with a spool of thread in its mouth.
The Corticelli Company was located in Florence, Massachusetts. It was one of the world’s largest producers of raw silk thread imported from Japan. In New York City, the famous Corticelli logo of a kitten playing with a spool of thread—loomed over Broadway from a huge electrical sign at 42nd Street between 1910 and 1913. The company was out of business by 1930.
