1890’s Victorian Parlor Print "May Morning" American Vintage Poster
AGE: c. 1890-1900
PRINTED BY: Bufford, Boston & New York
CONDITION: Freshly Linen mounted, lithograph, beautiful.
This beautiful print was used in the Victorian home as art, known as a parlor print. It is printed with fine quality litho printing. It depicts 2 young children, a boy and a girl, sister and brother, with fresh cut flowers. In the Victorian era, boys wore frocks with pleated skirts, or tunics and blouses over pleated skirts, until the age of three or five. A portrait of the Prince of Wales in a Scottish kilt in 1849 gave rise to this vogue for boys. It is a beautiful early stone original lithograph.
Wonderful art for children`s room, or those interested in Victoriana or Americana. We have never seen this poster before in our travels, and only have this one. Ready for framing.
Size: 12.5 × 16 inches
