CONDITION: Freshly Linen mounted, lithograph, beautiful.
This children’s poster series was first distributed during the WPA depression years era in American history, to further the incentive and well being of children. It was published in 1929 during the crash or fall of Wall Street, and then again in 1937, as a learning tool for children.
At the bottom is printed "Reverence" (17): The Hope of a Nation Poster Series, April." The poster, by illustrator Clark DeBall, depicts a young boy and girl out side under a tree with rabbits and birds. The printed text reads: "All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all."
Wiki states that: All Things Bright and Beautiful is an Anglican hymn, also popular with other Christian denominations. The piece can be sung to several melodies, in particular the 17th-century English melody "Royal Oak", adapted by Martin Shaw, and "All Things Bright and Beautiful" by William Henry Monk (1823–1889). There have also been other adaptations, such as a full choral piece by John Rutter.
A wonderful old piece distributed during the FDR Franklin Roosevelt Works Progress Administration era. We only have this one.
