This is a great old decorative art deco map of Long island, large and beautiful. It is the original 20 x 27 inch 1961 reprint of the original and very popular 1933 map by graphic design illustrator Courtland Smith. It is a decorative artist rendered pictorial map of Long Island, which features Brooklyn to Queens and out to the Hamptons to Montauk Point. There are many landmarks and beaches illustrated, such as Montauk Lighthouse and Fire Island. The Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound are beautifully illustrated with whales, fish, swordfish and a whailing ship in Sag harbor. It has an old American art deco WPA era feel and shows many historical sites also with monuments, light houses, parks and ferries.

A beautiful old piece we were excited to find, ready for framing.

Size: Horizontal 19.5 x 27 inches
