This is a wonderful WWII world war two poster entitled "Work on a Farm This Summer. Join the U.S. Crop Corps. Printed in Washington, D.C. by the U.S. Government Printing Office, (Office of War Information) OWI Poster No. 59., dated 1943.
Condition: The condition is wonderful, A condition, linen mounted. It is machine folded, as they were for distribution. The artist illustrator is Morgan Douglas, and depicts a wonderful American farmer couple, she with fresh organic vegetables in a basket, and he with a pitchfork. Both are wearing vintage jeans or denim overalls.
History: American farmers could not meet the military demand for food, as many farm workers joined the armed services or went to work in US factories. The U.S. Crop Corps was established to provide help on farms. This poster depicts an American couple in overalls and blue jeans, with a fresh food crop from the garden in their hands.
