A wonderful and graphic antique American advertising original poster for Dr. P. Hall's celebrated Catarrh Remedy and printed by Herald Lithography Company in Erie, PA. This is a very early and original "snake oil" advertising sign.
Hall genealogy: In 1990 census records we found Peter Hall, age 79, born in Connecticut in 1820. He was a druggist living in Erie Ward 3, Erie County, Pennsylvania with his wife Catherine, age 67 born in Pennsylvania. Their children are: Charles B. Hall, age 34, his wife Adella E. Hall. age 32, their son and Peter's grandson Kenneth P. Hall, and young granddaughter Alice A. Hall, age 1. They have a German servant living with them named Kate Hidt. On Erie County history websites we found Peter Hall listed as a physician, in practice since 1844.
