This lovely European parlor print depicts a beautiful woman strolling in her fashionable dress along a European style landscape, with architectural images. She is dressed in a hat and an elegant dress. Beneath the image are the words "The Terrace Walk by V Corcos."
Vittorio Matteo Corcos was born in Leghorn and studied at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Firenze Italia, under many famous artists of the times. By the turn of the 20th century he became a famous portrait painter doing royal portraits. The text at the top the poster reads 'Supplement to the Extra Summer Number of the Illustrated London News 1891'. The poster format, with no actual product advertising, is generally called a parlor print, very popular during the Victorian era and turn of the last century. It is literary in nature, produced to sell early newspapers.
