This is a great old original cardboard antique advertising sign for Dr. Lynas medicine products. We were able to find genealogy and early biography info online for Dr. J.B. Lynas of Logansport IN (1835-1901). James B. Lynas M.D.  started manufacturing remedies in his home after a succesful medical career. The business grew rapidly and in 1874 he opened a laboratory In Logansport. In 1904 the firm was incorporated under the name Dr. J. B. Lynas & Son (George H. Lynas) and eventually had over 1500 employees. (This info is from Powell History of Cass County Indiana 1913). City directories name it as a Medicine Flavoring Extract and Toilet Article Manufacturer. The firm also produced Langry Balm circa 1906, named for the famous actress Lilly Langry.  Antique Bottle collectors are also interested in his early bottles.

1886 Bio info from Google Books: "Book: ”History of Cass County, Indiana”, Edited by Thomas B. Helm, Brant & Fuller, Chicago, 1886, City of Logansport IN: DR. JAMES B.
