CONDITION: A- , Linen Mounted, A very tiny pressed tear left bottom border and some very tiny border wrinkles, absolutely unobtrusive unless very closely scrutinized. A stunning poster in wonderful and beautiful condition.
This poster was printed for ENIT in Italy, the Italian Travel Bureau. Its simple but strong art deco design is by the artist Guerrini, and recalls the architectural beauty found all throughout Italy.
Mantova, located in the Lombardia northern region of Italy, is also referred to as Mantua. Noted for its palaces, churches, and castles and literature festivals. Many past literary greats have lived or worked in this region. It is capital of the province of the same name. Mantua is surrounded by artificial lakes created during the 12th century. Mantua is mentioned in William Shakespeare`s tragedy Romeo and Juliet. Romeo leaves Mantua and returns to Verona when he hears that Juliet, has died.
