This is a wonderful, quaint and naive pastural scene showing 4 children and a black and white spotted dog having a picnic in a field, while a cow stands approvingly nearby. The advertising line reads “MILK Please!” and it was produced by the Dairymen's League Cooperative Association at 11 West 42nd St. in New York.
The artist is Carroll Clifford Snell (born 1893), who became well known as an American art deco artist and book illustrator. It is signed Carroll Snell in mid right. We have 3 old original Dairymen’s League posters, all found together, numbers 533, 525 and 524.
Condition is A, freshly linen mounted. It is a great little historical agricultural farmer or farming piece, produced to enhance farm production.
