This is a stunning Dutch KLM air poster printed for French travelers to South Africa. It depicts a native African watching a KLM airplane in the sky, with historical scenes of South African mining and pioneers in covered wagons. The Trekboers of South Africa traveled in caravans of wagons. The poster is in deep oranges, yellows, greens and reds.
Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij N.V., does business as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines which translates to the "Royal Aviation Company." KLM is the National airline of the Netherlands. Founded in 1919, it is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original given name, and is now a part of Air France - KLM.
This aviation poster design has an art deco look, with lush and beautiful colors and lithography. We have never has this KLM poster before in all of our poster travels. The poster is freshly archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one.
