1940 Queen Elizabeth Cunard Ocean Liner Travel Poster
SOLD
This is a wonderful image of the RMS Queen Elizabeth Cunard Line Ship, and her stunning two red smokestacks. It clearly states her name under the beautiful image of the vessel. This famous ship sailed the Atlantic Ocean for the Cunard Line known (also as Cunard White Star Line) and was built in the 1930’s. She was named in honor of Queen Elizabeth, and was the largest passenger liner ever built, a record that was not broken for 56 years. She was also a troopship in the Second World War, an ocean liner in the fifties, retired in 1968, and scrapped in 1975. She offered transatlantic service from Southampton (England) to Cherbourg (France) to New York City (America) for more than twenty years.
This poster is an A condition, linen mounted, with beautiful color and art deco design, ready for framing. It depicts a very eloquent and dramatic portrayal of the sea and the ship, filled with bustling daily life and many passengers on deck. We believe it to be late forties. great for an ocean line ship buff, or a children’s room. The poster is archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one.
