This is a wonderful, silly and humorous original first edition map of Yellowstone and Jackson Hole, "Slightly Cockeyed" by Jolly Lindgren. It features comic figures, animals, lakes, the peaks, comic sayings and puns, all designated and aptly named. Definitley a novelty approach to vintage map making, it is signed "Drawn in Broken English" by Jolly Lindgren.
Lindgren was legendary for his forties artwork, along the line of Jo Mora, but more comical and graphic in nature. The Lindgren Brothers of Seattle Washington printed a number of other whimsical maps of American National Parks and scenes of the West. Jolly was well known for his 1950's state decals, you know his graphic style when you see this poster. The poster is archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one.
