Condition: A condition, linen mounted, lightly machine folded as they all were for distribution in center, must be scrutinized very closely to see.
This is a rare original Abram Games war, military or propaganda poster for the women's ATS: Auxiliary Territorial Service. It features a very graphic art deco image of a woman in her ATS hat...with Game's simple ATS typeface at poster bottom in red, white & blue. It features an amazing example of 1940's forties era world war two graphics and the work of Abram Games. The ATS was the Women's branch of the British Army during the Second World War from 1938, as a women's voluntary service, untill 1949, when it became the Women's Royal Army Corps.
The design is indicative of Games' high modernist style, as in, sparse, direct, art deco and clean. We are very happy to offer a rare collection of his original poster work, which has been on our personal collection for years. See entire collection here.
