The Saturday Evening Post is a American magazine, started in 1897 and still in existence. It was monumental in its use of American illustrators on the famous covers, and exposing these designers and art to the American public, from Norman Rockwell, to John Falter, to JC Leyendecker to NC Wyeth  and many more.

This poster is by well known artist Stevan Dohanos, (1907-1994) of Lorain, Ohio. He was best known for his these covers, and also his World War II propaganda posters.

The image is a stunning story of a father and son both as veterans going out to a July 4th parade, father in his WWI uniform holding an American flag, and his son in his WWII uniform. Mama is straightening up her husband's tie, as their son looks on lovingly. The scene is a beautiful old American porch, in faded blues and old paint. An inset square reveals the content of the magazine, "This is life under Franco" and "Tulsa" by Wesley W. Stout. The cover was entitled "Two Generations of Vets."

We only have this one, although we are excited to present other Saturday Evening Post Posters as well. Freshly linen backed, beautiful and ready for framing. Amazing art.

SIZE:  22 x 27.5 inches
