This wonderful and fun poster was printed in France and shows an art deco car, motorcycle and bicycle tourist scene of travelers looking at a large road sign with pointers to Hongrie (Hugary), Pologne (Poland), Allemagne Orien Le, Bulgarie (Bulgaria), Roumanie (Romania), Tchecoslovaquie, (Czechoslovakia, Czeckoslovakia, Czeck, Czech) and U.R.S.S. (Russia). Poster text reads: vacances, which translates to vacation or Holiday. It also has the text "Paix et Liberte", which translates to "Peace and Freedom," and important theme in the time period post WW2, when France was rebuilding after military occupation of the war.
The graphics, bright red, black and royal blue design are wonderful, truly art deco. The poster depicts a hiker, a bicyclist, a motorbike rider and a great old car with a 1953 license plate...a very fun original French antique travel poster that we have never seen before. The poster is archivally linen backed and ready for framing. We only have this one.
